The Advantages of a Single-Point Attachment for Towing

The Advantages of a Single-Point Attachment for Towing

  • When B&W Trailer Hitches introduced the Turnoverball under-bed mounting system, it changed the direction of the trailer hitch industry, both in terms of the versatility it provides and the functionality of the hitch.

Traditionally, fifth-wheel and gooseneck hitches had been rail-mounted in the truck bed. The rails are very sturdy and the attachment is reliable, but the rails don’t come out of the truck. When you’re not towing, you are really limited in the use of your truck bed for anything else.

Our Companion Fifth-Wheel Hitch and Companion Slider Fifth-Wheel Hitch use a single point of attachment through a four-inch hole in the bed of your truck, connecting to the Turnoverball mounting system.

Not only can you pull a gooseneck or fifth-wheel hitch with the same system, but the hitch is easily removable, allowing you to quickly convert to a level bed so you can use your truck for something besides towing.

With a single point of attachment, installation is less complicated, and you don’t sacrifice any sturdiness, reliability or towing power. Our hitches have similar weight ratings as rail-mounted hitches.

You also don’t sacrifice performance in your hitch. In fact, one of our most important goals when developing these hitches was to provide a towing experience that’s quiet, smooth and rattle-free.

Reviews from our customers let us know that we’ve achieved that goal. Please ask one of our customers for their feedback and see what you think.

If you want to simplify your towing experience and have the flexibility to use your truck bed for other things when you’re not towing, single-point attachment using the Turnoverball under-bed mounting system is definitely the way to go.
