B&W Trailer Hitches Yearly Update

B&W Trailer Hitches Yearly Update

  •  B&W Trailer Hitches has had another busy year. 2012 began with a new venture into the motorcycle world then progressed with upgrades to the manufacturing plant, the addition of an on-site clinic and a nationwide television commercial campaign.  The company has grown to 243 full-time employees, up from 216 last year. B&W is continuing to be a competitive force in this rebounding economy.

B&W purchased the motorcycle transport system from Roberts Products in March of 2012 and by August, made its way to the 72nd Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Designed specifically for trailering a Harley Davidson motorcycle, the Biker Bar secures your motorcycle without the need for straps. The company has already made improvements to the design and is making headway in the marketplace.

The manufacturing floor has new upgrades this year as well. With several new machines, including robotic welders, two CNC machines and press brakes, the company needed to make more room to house material shipments. A building for housing raw materials will be erected to the east of the existing building to make room for more manufacturing activities. Also, a new employee-built powder coat system has been integrated into the layout.

B&W is not only concerned with the growth and well-being of its building and equipment, but is proud to be an active supporter in the health and wellness of employees and their families. The B&W Health & Wellness Clinic was introduced in March with employees visiting the Ashley clinic.  The on-site health & wellness building is nearly completed and expected to welcome patients on November 1st.

The continued growth of B&W rests on many factors including the repeated and new marketing efforts. As in previous years, B&W is still a sponsor of the PRCA tour and Finals Rodeo.  This year’s newest advertising began in March with the launch of a nationwide television commercial campaign. The spots were shot on location in familiar, local Southeast Kansas landmarks.
